Rescuers pulled 101-year-old Funchu Tamang out of the rubble of a collapsed house Saturday.

Funchu Tamang, 101, sits on a bed in a hospital in Nuwakot district on May 3, 2015 around 80 kilometres (50 miles) northwest of Kathmandu where he was taken after being rescued from his collapsed home a day earlier. The 101-year-old man was found alive at his ruined home a week after Nepal's earthquake claimed at least 7,200 lives, as the government warned on May 3 the death toll will climb "much higher". Police had initially said that Tamang was trapped under the rubble of his home ever since the quake struck on April 25, but they later said he was in fact rescued from his garden where he had been sheltering since the disaster. It's not clear when the man was actually rescued, the Associated Press reported.
Agence France Press reported that Tamang had only minor injuries to his ankle and hands. Police originally said that Tamang was found under the rubble of his home, but later said he was rescued from his garden where he had been sheltering since the disaster, AFP reported.
"He was brought to the district hospital in a helicopter. His condition is stable," police officer Arun Kumar Singh told AFP.
The rescue comes as the hope of finding survivors turns bleak. The death toll from the April 25 earthquake reached 7,276, including six foreigners and 45 Nepalese found over the weekend on a popular trekking route, said government administrator Gautam Rimal.
Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat said the death toll will likely increase as relief teams look through hard to reach villages, AFP reported.
On Sunday, Nepal shut its only international airport in Kathmandu to large aid planes because of damage to the main runway. Medium and small planes were still allowed to land.
United Nations humanitarian chief Valerie Amos told AFP of her concerns that customs controls are slowing down the delivery of humanitarian aid to the country.
Some people in remote areas say that relief has yet to reach them amid reports that aid is piling up at the Kathmandu airport.
Laxi Dhakal, a Home Ministry official, said it's unlikely there will be more survivors, ABC reported.
"Unless they were caught in an air pocket, there is not much possibility," Dhakal said.
The United Nations estimated that the 7.8-magnitude quake affected 8.1 million people.
