[h=2]72nd anniversary of<span style="color: Red;">*</span>D-Day<span style="color: Red;">*</span>[/h]The D-Day invasion — 156,000 U.S., British and Canadian forces storming<span style="color: Red;">*</span>five beaches along 50 miles of the Normandy region of France — took place 72 years ago on Monday. Many lives were lost that day, including an estimated 2,000 Americans on Omaha Beach (aka Bloody Omaha)<span style="color: Red;">*</span>alone. Celebrations will take place throughout Normandy<span style="color: Red;">*</span>in honor of their sacrifice and heroism. You can mark the anniversary in your own home by watching Band of Brothers (HBO Go) or reading or watching The Longest Day.

[h=2]Van driver in Freddie Gray case goes on trial[/h]The trial of Officer Caesar Goodson, Jr., is set to begin Monday. Goodson is one of five Baltimore City police officers in the Freddie Gray<span style="color: Red;">*</span>case still awaiting trial. As the driver of the police van in which Gray is believed to have suffered a fatal spinal injury, prosecutors say Goodson bears the most responsibility in Gray's death. He is charged with second-degree murder and could face 30 years in prison if convicted. Last month,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Edward Nero,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>the second police officer tried in the case, was acquitted<span style="color: Red;">*</span>of all charges. The first trial ended in a hung jury and will be retried.

[h=2]Prosecutor to decide on charges in the Harambe incident<span style="color: Red;">*</span>[/h]Hamilton County Prosecutor<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Joe Deters<span style="color: Red;">*</span>has scheduled a Monday afternoon news conference where he is expected to announce his decision on whether he will press charges against the family of the 3-year-old boy who fell into the gorilla exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo last month. The breach resulted in the fatal shooting of the 17-year-old gorilla, Harambe, sparking national outrage and debate.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Legal experts have said that prosecution on child endangerment or similar charges seems unlikely.

[h=2]Tropical Storm Colin moves through Florida<span style="color: Red;">*</span>[/h]Tropical Storm Colin will bring rain, winds, flooding and even the threat of tornadoes to Florida and southern Georgia Monday as it pushes its way northeast to the Atlantic Ocean. Colin could dump up to 8 inches of rain and cause storm surges up to 3 feet along the corridor between Fort Myers and Tampa to Jacksonville and Tallahassee, according to the National Hurricane Center. It's the third named storm of the 2016 hurricane season.

Broncos Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib, who was<span style="color: Red;">*</span>shot in the leg at a Dallas night club Sunday morning, will not be in attendance. A Broncos spokesperson tweeted that Talib is "doing OK." Peyton Manning will be at the White House, but former QB Brock Osweiler is skipping the event for practice, he says.
