Pope Francis, Russian Orthodox patriarch to meet in Cuba
It's been a LONG time coming. Pope Francis and the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church will meet in Cuba on Friday in a first-ever encounter between the heads of the two churches since the Great Schism of 1054. The pope and Patriarch Kirill plan to hold a "personal conversation" at Havana's airport, then*sign a joint declaration. Kirill will be on an official*visit to*Cuba, while Francis will be en route to Mexico, where he lands later on*Friday for a*six-day visit. The split between the two churches nearly 1,000 years ago has endured over issues such as the primacy of the pope and accusations by the Russian church that the Catholic Church is trying to poach converts.

Corvette museum marks sinkhole anniversary with new exhibit
You remember it. A 40-foot-wide sinkhole at Kentucky's National Corvette Museum opened up on Feb.*12, 2014, and swallowed eight Corvettes. Thankfully, no one was hurt — but the incredible moment was caught on camera and seen 'round the world. The museum is marking the anniversary of the swallowing with the opening of a new exhibit Friday that explains the sinkhole and the recovery. (If you can't make it to Kentucky: The hole has been filled and cars are back on display, although not all have been restored.) Rewatch the moment the cars slipped into the massive hole as the floor caved in below.

Newly discovered Lincoln artifact goes on display
The Indiana State Museum is unveiling*a previously unknown*Abraham Lincoln artifact*on Friday that had been a family’s secret heirloom for five generations.*The wooden mallet with the initials A.L. was*used by*the young Lincoln to split logs into rails for fencing.*During the 1860 presidential race, Lincoln's political handlers touted their candidate's hard-working, blue-collar days as a railsplitter, an everyman. At 21, Lincoln moved from Indiana to Illinois and gave the mallet to a Hoosier neighbor named Barnabas Carter. Today, Barnabas Carter's great-great-great-great-grandson Keith Carter owns the mallet. He lent it to the museum for a year as a way to help celebrate Indiana's 2016 bicentennial.
