5 thing
1. Obama to address police at U.S. Capitol
Police officers from across the world will arrive on Capitol Friday morning for the 34th Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service, honoring officers killed in the line of duty. The service comes toward the end of Police Week, which draws thousands of officials to Washington, D.C. every year. According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 2014 was an especially deadly year for police, with the deaths of 126 law enforcement officers.

2. Legoland Hotel makes everything more awesome for Lego fans
Yes, the Legoland Hotel opening Friday is made of Legos. The five-story, 152-room hotel next to Legoland Florida Resort in Orlando is made up of more than 2 million Lego bricks, in fact. Each room is outfitted with Lego graphics and models, and guests can choose from pirate, adventure, kingdom or Lego Friends themes. At the Master Model Builder Workshop on the first floor, guests learn how to build Lego models from the experts. Rooms start at $219, which includes early access to Legoland and other perks.

3. National Bike to Work Day encourages commuting on two wheels
Smack in the middle of National Bike Month is Bike to Work Day, which the League of American Bicyclists calls a "celebration of active transportation." Many U.S. cities host Bike to Work Day events, encouraging riders to commute on two wheels. According to the league, bicycle commuting rates in large "Bike Friendly Communities" increased 105% from 2000 to 2013, above the national average of 62%. If your commute still means you're traveling by car, give these riders on Friday a wide berth -- and skip the honk, even if you applaud their efforts. Cyclists, you can share your Bike to Work photos via Your Take.

5. 75 years later, McD's is still going strong
On May 15, 1940, McDonald's Bar-B-Q restaurant opened its doors — well, its drive-in stalls — in San Bernardino, Calif. Now, it wasn't the golden-arched global dynamo it is today, but it was the restaurant that helped start it all. As it grew, so did its menu. Trying almost everything – heck, they even tried pizza. Take a look back at some of our favorite foods.
