To realign our clocks and calendars with the universe, i.e., <span style="color: Red;">*</span>Earth's orbit around the sun.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>In Ireland, Feb.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>29 is Bachelor's Day, a day<span style="color: Red;">*</span>when<span style="color: Red;">*</span>women propose to men. And just as with every other day of the year, babies are born on Feb.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>29. If you're a "leapling," then happy birthday! Astrologers say you have unusual talents. We say you have an unusual birthday. Here are some things you probably didn't know about Leap Day.
America's highest military honor awarded to Navy SEAL
President Obama on Monday is awarding the Medal of Honor to Navy SEAL<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Edward Byers for his role in a dramatic 2012 hostage rescue in Afghanistan. The medal, to be awarded during a ceremony at the White House, is America's<span style="color: Red;">*</span>highest military honor.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Only five Navy SEALs have ever been awarded the Medal of Honor, three for<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Vietnam and one each — posthumously<span style="color: Red;">*</span>—<span style="color: Red;">*</span>for actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Byers is the first living sailor to be awarded the Medal of Honor since 1998, when President Clinton awarded one belatedly for action in the Vietnam War.

Appellate judges hear arguments in Menendez corruption case
A clause written into the Constitution could be the key to the corruption charges against New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez when three federal appellate judges hear arguments in the case Monday. How they interpret the "speech or debate" clause<span style="color: Red;">*</span>—<span style="color: Red;">*</span>which<span style="color: Red;">*</span>protected members of Congress from having their legislative acts subjected to scrutiny by the other two branches, "in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace"<span style="color: Red;">*</span>— will determine if Menendez can be found guilty of receiving bribes from his longtime friend, a Florida eye doctor who allegedly sought political favors from the senator.
