Sunday brings Eric Holder, remembrances for those lost in Paris attacks
In aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo shootings, Attorney General Eric Holder will travel to Paris this weekend to attend a Sunday International Ministerial meeting. The meeting, called in response to the attacks, is being convened by the French Minister of Interior. The meetings will include discussions on addressing terrorist threats, foreign fighters and countering violent extremism. You won't cross this bridge when you get to it
San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge has apparently banked plenty of PTO hours over the last 77 years – and this weekend it's using 52 of them. Starting at midnight Friday and continuing through 4 a.m. Monday, the bridge will be closed to cars so that a movable median barrier can be installed along the 1.7-mile span to prevent head-on collisions, the AP reports. It's said to be the iconic bridge's longest shutdown ever and the first closure since the few hours it took off in 1987 for its 50th-anniversary celebration.

Haiti remembers devastating 2010 earthquake
On Jan. 12, 2010, an earthquake hit the small island nation of Haiti, leaving death and destruction in its wake. Five years later, those affected by the tragedy are still picking up the pieces of their lives. Like Josué Lacrète, who lived in a tent for three years before moving to recently-inhabited development. "A lot of people are professionals here — teachers, lawyers, construction workers," said Lacrète, 32, a mechanic who had to quit his job at a Port-au-Prince garage when he moved to the new development. "Part of the idea of living here was to take these people and get them jobs in the area. That part has not happened yet."
