1. Your guide to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao
The largest-grossing fight in boxing history, with the biggest purse, most pay-per-view buys and highest ticket prices is Saturday. It may be the one of the most significant athletic events in the last 50 years. The Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao bout in Las Vegas is a big deal. Is it the biggest fight ever? Some say it's not even close, but here are some numbers that beg to differ. Mayweather, 38, with a 47-0 record, says he will make about $200 million for the big fight. Pacquiao will make less, but still nearly $100 million. And for whomever wins, the Million-Dollar Belt (with gold and 3,000 emeralds) is waiting.
2.The second #RoyalBaby is here!
Duchess Kate went into labor early Saturday, a week after her due date, and mere hours later, Kensington Palace announced that she had given birth to a baby girl at St. Mary's Hospital. According to Kensington, the baby was born at 8:34 a.m. local time and weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces. Father Prince Will was present for the birth. The British public correctly bet that it would be a princess; grandfather Prince Charles said earlier this week that the family was hoping for a girl. The child is now fourth-in-line to the throne, knocking uncle Prince Harry down to fifth. Compared to the craze surrounding the birth of big brother Prince George, the countdown for the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been much calmer. 3. Hats, juleps and, oh yeah, horses
Who will take home the garland of roses awarded to the horse that wins the Kentucky Derby? American Pharoah is the 5-2 favorite, followed by unbeaten Dortmund. But the 20-horse field at Churchill Downs will be loaded with others that have solid credentials. But enough with all that horse talk, this is the one weekend a year where non-equestrian types dive into all things horse racing. For a lot of people, that just means mint juleps and big hats.
4. Final flight with remains from MH17 heads to Netherlands
The search for remains and wreckage has ended at the site in the Ukraine where Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 went down nearly a year ago. Saturday, a final flight carrying seven coffins and watches, rings and passports will arrive in the Netherlands, where many of the passengers were from. Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, head of the Dutch-led mission, said the team was hopeful the finds would allow the final two victims to be identified. The plane was shot down in July 2014 and all 298 people on board died.
5. Visit Elvis and Priscilla's honeymoon house-a burning love
It could be now or never for celebrating the annual Weekend with the King. The owners of the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway will present their 21st annual celebration of Elvis and Priscilla Presley's 1967 honeymoon Saturday and Sunday at the house the Presleys leased for the 1966-67 season in Palm Springs, Calif. Elvis, who would have turned 80 on Jan. 8, was married to Priscilla in a surprise private ceremony in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967.
