1. Mayweather will fight his last match —<span style="color: Red;">*</span>so he says
Boxing’s champion Floyd Mayweather said he<span style="color: Red;">*</span>will fight his last fight Saturday against Andre Berto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. This might be a one-sided clash before Mayweather retires again<span style="color: Red;">*</span>— he came out of a 21-month retirement in 2007 for a fight against Ricky Hatton.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Mayweather faced a<span style="color: Red;">*</span>doping allegation<span style="color: Red;">*</span>after his match against Manny Pacquiao in May. But the<span style="color: Red;">*</span>boxer and the<span style="color: Red;">*</span>U.S. Anti-Doping Agency<span style="color: Red;">*</span>said Thursday that he<span style="color: Red;">*</span>didn’t commit an infraction when he took an intravenous infusion the day before his fight against Pacquiao.
2. iPhones pre-orders begin
Many were underwhelmed with Apple's unveil of its<span style="color: Red;">*</span>latest iPhones (6S and 6S Plus), but it's still the best iPhone yet. Pre-orders start Saturday at 12:01 a.m. PT.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Customers can pre-order the iPhone through Apple’s website or online from<span style="color: Red;">*</span>the four major carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>The phone goes on sale Sept. 25, and Apple introduced a payment plan option that nods to the demise of the two-year carrier contract. 3. ‘Mamma Mia!’ drops its final Broadway curtain
Broadway's dancing queen<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Mamma Mia!<span style="color: Red;">*</span>closes Saturday after a 14-year run that made it the eighth-longest running show. The frothy musical that uses<span style="color: Red;">*</span>songs from the band ABBA ran<span style="color: Red;">*</span>5,765 performances, grossed more than $600 million and outlasted over 500<span style="color: Red;">*</span>other Broadway productions. The musical also became a movie starring<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Meryl Streep. The feel-good show — featuring classic hits like<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Dancing Queen<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and<span style="color: Red;">*</span>S.O.S.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>— has been a hit in dozens of countries, including South Korea, Italy, Denmark,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>South Africa<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and Spain.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>The<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Phantom of the Opera, which debuted in 1988, is the longest-running show still on Broadway with<span style="color: Red;">*</span>11,483 performances, according to Playbill.com.

4. ‘Miss America’ welcomes back Vanessa Williams
Three decades after she gave up the crown amid a nude photo scandal, Vanessa Williams is returning to the 95th Miss America pageant as head judge Sunday. The award-winning actress and singer was the first African-American Miss America in 1984, but resigned after Penthouse magazine published sexually explicit photographs of her. She joins celebrity judges<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Brett Eldredge,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Taya Kyle,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Danica McKellar, Kevin O'Leary,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Amy Purdy<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Zendaya. The new Miss America will take over for last year’s winner Kira Kazantsev from New York.
5. Fire-damaged<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Carnival cruise ship cleared to sail
The Carnival cruise ship that came to an abrupt end earlier this week after an engine<span style="color: Red;">*</span>fire<span style="color: Red;">*</span>will return to service Sunday. None of the 3,000-plus passengers<span style="color: Red;">*</span>were injured by the fire that<span style="color: Red;">*</span>erupted Monday morning<span style="color: Red;">*</span>while the ship was docked in St. Thomas.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>The<span style="color: Red;">*</span>ship<span style="color: Red;">*</span>returned to its home port of San Juan, Puerto Rico Friday morning<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and has been cleared to begin its next scheduled voyage on Sunday. This week's fire is the second in three months on a large cruise ship sailing in the<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Caribbean. In July,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>a<span style="color: Red;">*</span>fire broke out<span style="color: Red;">*</span>in July on Royal<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Caribbean's<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Freedom of the Seas ship as it sailed into Falmouth, Jamaica.
