1. It may be autumn, but brrrr! Winter-like*weather in the forecast
The first widespread cold snap of the season will sweep across much*of the north-central and northeastern USA*this weekend. Look for light snow near the*Great Lakes*and in the mountains*of the Northeast. The first frost and freeze are forecast*from parts*of the Ohio Valley to the suburbs of major cities along Interstate 95 from Virginia to Maine, according to*AccuWeather.*Roughly 74 million people will see temperatures drop to freezing or below-freezing in*the next several days, WeatherBell meteorologist Ryan Maue said.
2. 'Little pink pill' hits pharmacy shelves
The first*prescription drug intended to*treat women suffering from a lack of sexual desire becomes available Saturday. Flibanserin, which is being marketed under the brand name*Addyi, received FDA approval in August. It*has been dubbed "Viagra for women" even though it works very differently from the erectile dysfunction drug for men.

3. National League and American League Championship series get into full swing
One franchise is guaranteed to end a long championship drought as none of the four participants — Royals, Blue Jays, Mets and Cubs — has*won the World Series since 1993. Saturday afternoon, the Royals will host the Blue Jays for Game 2 of the ALCS. The two foes aren’t in the same division, but there’s still some heated history between the teams. The NLCS opens Saturday night and will probably boil down to the Mets’ young arms against the young bats of the Cubs. Game 1 will have Matt Harvey pitching for New York and Jon Lester for the Chicago. The Cubs will send ace Jake Arrieta to the mound for Game 2 on Sunday night. New York has not named its starter.
4. Israel to deploy soldiers on streets to combat violence
The Israeli military says it will deploy 300 soldiers in the streets of Jerusalem*on Sunday to help police maintain order after weeks of violence between Palestinians and Israelis.*The deployment is the latest step by Israel to beef up security in the city. Thousands of additional police and paramilitary guards are already on patrol, and Israel has *erected concrete barriers and checkpoints outside some Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem.*The military says the soldiers will help guard public transportation and the city's main arteries.
5. Tracy Morgan will host 'SNL' in*his first big appearance since 2014*car wreck*
Comedian Tracy Morgan is back hosting Saturday Night Live,*the show where he spent seven years making us laugh. It's*his first big performance since the car accident*in 2014 that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Just in case you think the show might take a serious turn this weekend, Morgan is already making fun of himself and the whole affair.
