Major winter storm is on its way
Tens of millions of Americans in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast are bracing for a massive snowstorm, with winter storm watches beginning Thursday and stretching through Saturday. The storm may drop 1-2 feet of snow from the Appalachians across the Mid-Atlantic and toward New York, with a huge impact on businesses, homes and travel, the National Weather Service said. The strongest winds and potentially life-threatening conditions are expected Friday night through Saturday night.

Carson resumes campaigning after volunteer's death
Ben Carson will resume his presidential campaign on Thursday following the death of one of his campaign volunteers. The retired brain surgeon canceled Tuesday and Wednesday campaign stops in South Carolina and California after Braden Joplin died in a hospital Tuesday following a car crash in western Iowa. The van, driven by a Carson campaign staffer, was carrying three campaign volunteers when it lost control and was struck by another vehicle on icy Interstate 80.
Idaho pastor held in Iran returns to U.S.
Boise Pastor Saeed Abedini<span style="color: Red;">*</span>was<span style="color: Red;">*</span>among five Americans<span style="color: Red;">*</span>released Saturday after a dramatic prisoner swap between the United States and Iran that<span style="color: Red;">*</span>came<span style="color: Red;">*</span>just as international sanctions against Iran were being lifted. Abedini, who had been in an Iranian prison since 2012,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>is scheduled to return to the United States on Thursday.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Since his release, he<span style="color: Red;">*</span>has been receiving medical treatment and evaluation at a U.S. military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, along with<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian, who made a brief appearance outside the hospital on Wednesday, and former U.S. Marine Amir Hekmati. A fourth freed American, Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari, opted to stay in Iran, and a fifth, Matthew Trevithick, arrived in Boston on Sunday.

'Tomorrow' brings us new comic book legends tonight
A time-traveling bad boy must recruit a team of superheroes to save the world from apocalypse in CW's latest DC comic book adaptation, Legends of Tomorrow, which premieres Thursday (8 p.m. ET/PT). The series stars Arthur Darvill, a "Time Master" who is sent to stop immortal villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
