Russia skips U.S.-hosted nuclear summit
President Obama will host leaders from more than 50 countries Thursday for an international nuclear summit despite two power players — Russia and Pakistan — missing from Washington. Pakistan’s prime minister canceled his*trip after a*deadly terror attack in Lahore this week, but Russia said they simply weren’t interested in coming. The summit will begin with a working dinner Thursday to discuss nuclear terrorism and promote disarmament. Obama will also take time to meet with Japan, South Korea and China later this week about threats posed by North Korea's nuclear weapons.

Customers can reserve*their Model 3 at Tesla stores Thursday morning*and online after a live unveiling at 8:30 PT/11:30 ET. Buyers will need to be patient: Production won't begin until late 2017, Tesla says.

The White House*will host a briefing Thursday*on "Life After Clemency,"*with*"advocates, academics, and Administration officials to discuss and share ideas on the President’s clemency initiative and ways to improve paths to reentry." Recipients of commutations will discuss their own experiences during the briefing, White House Counsel Neil Eggleston*said in a blog post. The briefing comes a day after President Obama commuted the sentences of 61 prisoners, most of whom were "low-level drug offenders whose sentences would have been shorter if they were convicted under today’s laws," the president said.
