The Masters tees off without some famous names
This year’s Masters will be full of familiar faces fighting for that famed green jacket,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>including defending champion Jordan Spieth.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>But<span style="color: Red;">*</span>a lot of the talk will focus on who won’t be teeing off Thursday morning at Augusta National. Tiger Woods withdrew from the tournament Monday because of a back injury, and<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Arnold Palmer announced last month he would not take the ceremonial first swing for the first time since 2007.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Minus Palmer, golf legends Jack Nicklaus<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and Gary Player will do the honors<span style="color: Red;">*</span>at 8:05 a.m. ET.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>ESPN will have live coverage at 3 p.m. ET.

Universal Studios opens wizard world to Muggles
Thousands of Muggles — non-wizarding folk — are expected to make the pilgrimage to Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday for the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Inside, the<span style="color: Red;">*</span>snow-covered medieval village of Hogsmeade, based on the renowned Harry Potter books and movies, will entrance<span style="color: Red;">*</span>visitors with its<span style="color: Red;">*</span>restaurant and two rides. One of these, the Forbidden Journey,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>has reportedly made some test riders nauseous, so be wary of your Butterbeer consumption.

'Jackie' to testify in lawsuit against Rolling Stone
The woman at the center of Rolling Stone’s now-retracted story about an alleged frat-house gang rape must testify Thursday as a part of a lawsuit against the magazine. "Jackie," the sole source for the 2014 article, will be deposed by attorneys representing University of Virginia associate dean Nicole Eramo.Eramo<span style="color: Red;">*</span>is suing the magazine and author Sabrina Rubin Erdely for defamation over her portrayal in the story. Jackie<span style="color: Red;">*</span>has not spoken under oath about her account and continues to stand by it despite intense media scrutiny and a Columbia University<span style="color: Red;">*</span>review that found<span style="color: Red;">*</span>systemic editorial failures by the magazine.

Iceland's fisheries and agriculture minister to meet with country's president
Iceland's fisheries and agriculture minister,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Sigmundur Ingi Jóhannsson,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>is expected to meet President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson on Thursday, a day after he said<span style="color: Red;">*</span>he would seek the president's<span style="color: Red;">*</span>approval to become the country's next prime minister.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Jóhannsson looks to replace Iceland Prime Minister Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson, who stepped aside this week amid public protests<span style="color: Red;">*</span>over his offshore investments disclosed in the Panama Papers.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Jóhannsson serves as vice chairman of Gunnlaugsson's Progressive Party and has said the governing coalition will remain intact. For its part, the opposition disapproves of the change and plans to hold a vote of no-confidence in parliament.

'American Idol' crowns singing champ for the last time
TV's most popular and successful talent contest says goodbye after 15 seasons Thursday as one singer becomes America's latest (and last) Idol. In addition to announcing the winner from among<span style="color: Red;">*</span>finalists Trent Harmon, Dalton Rapattoni and La’Porsha Renae, the 2-hour, 6-minute American Idol<span style="color: Red;">*</span>finale will feature many past Idols, including Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, as well as notable non-winners such as Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry and Clay Aiken. The show airs on Fox at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
