1. The frantic bracket checking begins
March Madness has cometh. The Round of 64 at the NCAA tournament tips off on Thursday with a full slate of 16 games, beginning just after noon ET. Two top seeds, Villanova and Kentucky, take the court in their first games of the tournament, while teams from all across the country vie for a spot in the Round of 30. Follow @USATODAYSports for all the bracket-busting news.
2. It's officially over for Ferguson police chief
The resignation of embattled Ferguson, Mo., Police Chief Thomas Jackson, 57, goes into effect Thursday. His department received scathing criticism from the Justice Department for racially biased policing. Jackson, 57, becomes the third top city official to leave following the Justice Department's investigation that found systemic racial bias by police and court officials. Judge Ronald Brockmeyer and City Manager John Shaw resigned earlier last week.
3. The royals mix and mingle with Obama, Biden
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla's trip continues and their next stop may be their biggest. The royals visit with President Obama, Vice President Biden and several congressional leaders on Thursday — a day after touring D.C.'s most historic sites. Later in the week, Charles and Camilla head to Kentucky as the prince gives a speech on health and the environment at a health summit.

4. Tesla CEO Elon Musk vows end to 'range anxiety'
He hasn't said yet how he'll do it, but Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk says electric car drivers won't need to fear running out of battery power anymore. On Thursday, he'll unveil the answer to range anxiety, where electric car drivers worry they will run out of juice before getting to a destination. The change will affect all Tesla Model S sedans, not just newer ones, Musk's tweet said. That's good news for Model S drivers, who already own the best vehicle you can buy, according to Consumer Reports.
