Trump and Fox News try to be friends again
The man leading in the polls among GOP presidential hopefuls appears to be making up with the nation's top conservative television outlet after a weekend of heated exchanges in the wake of last week's Republican debate. Trump slammed the network and moderator Megyn Kelly for what he perceived as unfair treatment in the debate, saying Kelly "really bombed" and that she "was not very good or professional." The feud reached a boiling point when Trump said Kelly had "blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever." Yet, both sides appear willing to put the dustup behind them and, after assurances from Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, that he will be treated fairly, Trump will appear on Fox & Friends and Hannity on Tuesday.

Colorado governor to tour contaminated area
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will visit the area near the contaminated Animas River near Silverton, Colo., on Tuesday, one day after declaring a state of emergency. Howls of outrage are still echoing through the mining town six days after an EPA contractor spilled an estimated 3 million gallons of toxic wastewater into the Animas River, temporarily turning the beloved waterway orange and acidic. Federal officials are testing the water, and local governments closed off river access through the tourist town of Durango, about 50 miles south.
NFL ramps up its pursuit of the L.A. market
The NFL's pursuit of a stadium and team for the Los Angeles market picks up when the league meets Tuesday in Chicago. The owners of the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams have already said they're unhappy in their stadiums and will likely apply for relocation to negotiate with L.A. Some NFL owners predicted one or two teams will move to L.A. for the 2016 season. But any new stadium might not be ready until 2018.

Look out for the Perseid meteor shower!
Quite possibly the best meteor shower of the year — the Perseids — shoots through a sky near you starting Tuesday. There could be as many as 80 meteors per hour at the peak of the shower — most visible in pre-dawn hours and especially on Wednesday. And unlike the nippy nights in November in December when the Leonids and Geminids show, you can watch this show in warm summer air. "The Perseids feature fast and bright meteors that frequently leave trains, and in 2015 there will be no moonlight to upstage the shower," according to NASA.

Nissan, Enterprise go back to school with carsharing deal
Nissan announced a deal Tuesday with Enterprise CarShare that will place about 300 vehicles on nearly 90 colleges, with up to 25 vehicles on some campuses. The deal represents another leg in the auto industry's multifaceted strategy to win the hearts and minds of Millennials who often look to the Uber and Lyft apps as transportation options. Enterprise said it's offering the Nissan cars on campus at rates of $5 per hour for all models through 2015.
