Microsoft's augmented reality glasses ship as Build 2016 begins
Microsoft hopes to make a splash Wednesday when it*begins shipping its $3,000 HoloLens*augmented reality glasses. Unlike its virtual reality competition,*HoloLens can project holographic images*to the wearer without blocking out the real world. Microsoft launches the product as Build 2016 kicks off in San Francisco*—*an annual week-long*developer conference that lays out the company’s software plans for the year.
Turkish*president makes trip to Washington
Turkish President Recep Erdogan’s visit Wednesday to Washington comes at an awkward time for U.S.-Turkey relations. While he will meet with Vice President Biden, he won't have a formal visit with President Obama*— and it*isn’t going unnoticed. The White House said it's because Obama's time is limited, but analysts detect a snub*reflecting U.S. discomfort with Erdogan’s crackdown on freedom of expression in Turkey. As unrest grows*in Turkey, the Pentagon ordered*U.S. military members*to evacuate Tuesday.*Erdogan will open an Islamic cultural center in Lantham, Md.,*on Wednesday*and later attend the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit.

Ford, 46, served as*mayor from 2010 to 2014, when he was stripped of his duties*following a string of controversies*– including public intoxication,*his admitted crack cocaine use and an incoherent*rant caught on video. *Ford’s funeral procession will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET and conclude with a service at St. James Cathedral at noon.

Battaglia, seeking revenge after his ex-wife went to police reporting he harassed her, called her during a May 2001 visit with their young daughters and shot them both in his Dallas apartment as their mother listened on the phone.*The 60-year-old man will be the sixth inmate executed this year in Texas and the 10th inmate executed nationally.
