Microsoft rolls out Windows 10 on Wednesday — which analysts expect will cause massive Internet traffic. But Windows users may have to wait in line to get the much-anticipated upgrade. If you aren't an insider and didn't reserve your copy, it's going to be awhile — months — because Microsoft is upgrading in small groups. The new software is free for Windows 7 and 8.1 users. Expect major changes: Continuum software will allow phones to work as desktops and apps to adjust layouts to fit PCs, tablets or phones; Cortana will work on PCs; apps will function universally across PCs, tablets, phones and Xbox One; Microsoft Edge replaces Internet Explorer; Xbox One gamers can play opponents*on PCs or Xbox One consoles;*and more.
