Sean Hannity defended his treatment of Ted Cruz just a day after the two clashed over Cruz’s maneuvering to collect delegates.
The Fox News host’s latest comments came on his show Wednesday during a conversation with David Limbaugh, Rush Limbaugh’s brother and a Cruz supporter who’s also Hannity’s attorney.
“David, this has now happened in the last three interviews that I've had with Sen. Cruz,” Hannity said. “I feel like I've been more than fair to him.”
“I think it's more of a misunderstanding,” Limbaugh said. “If he was aggravated, it's not at you. It's at Donald Trump for recklessly misrepresenting that stealing and cheating is going on.”
During his dustup with Cruz on Tuesday, Hannity erupted at the Republican presidential candidate when Cruz evaded questions about the strategy, which*relies on obscure party rules.
“You gotta stop!” Hannity said when Cruz avoid a question on the process.
Cruz’s efforts have allowed him to rack up a hefty amount of delegates while infuriating front-runner Donald Trump, whom Cruz trails in primary wins.
On Wednesday, Hannity called the Republican party’s delegate process “confusing” and said he hopes to see changes to it going forward.
“I don't see any problems courting delegates for a second ballot if you think it's going to go to a contested convention. That's fine,” Hannity said. “But I think having it explained by the candidates what their strategy is is a legitimate question.”
