Ray Rice eligible to play after winning appeal of NFL suspension
Ray Rice is officially an NFL player again, free to sign with any team. And, whether or not he deserves it, Rice will in all likelihood get a second chance. A neutral arbitrator overturned Rice's indefinite suspension from the NFL, ruling that the disgraced running back did not mislead Commissioner Roger Goodell, who made an "arbitrary" decision to increase Rice's suspension from two games based on no new evidence. Rice, 27, initially was suspended two games for a domestic violence incident involving his then-fiancée at an Atlantic City casino in February. Here's a look at possible destinations for the league's most infamous free agent.

Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson resigns
The white police officer who resigned almost four months after fatally shooting a black teen, setting off months of sometimes violent protests in Ferguson, Mo., was not asked to leave — but "it's best that we continue to move on as a community," Mayor James Knowles said Sunday. Knowles said Darren Wilson, who was earning about $45,000 a year, was given no severance when he resigned Saturday, effective immediately. Wilson, 28, had been on paid administrative leave since shooting Michael Brown, 18, following a confrontation on a Ferguson street Aug. 9.

Egypt court dismisses murder charges against Mubarak
An Egyptian court dropped murder charges Saturday against former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, dealing a stunning blow to the uprising that ousted him in 2011. Mubarak, who ruled Egypt for almost 30 years, faced charges linked to the deaths of hundreds of protesters during the 18-day revolt — known as the Jan. 25 revolution — that ultimately pushed him from power. Protesters gathered near Tahrir Square — the heart of the nation's 2011 uprising — to denounce the court's decision, state news agency MENA reported.

Gregory Jean, 37, and Samantha Davis, 42, are charged with false imprisonment and child cruelty. They made their first court appearance at the Clayton County jail Sunday morning.
Shia LaBeouf: I was raped
Shia LaBeouf's arrests, altercations and attempts at art have garnered more attention than his acting in recent years, and now he's raising eyebrows, again with an accusation of sexual assault. In an interview with Dazed & Confused magazine, he says a woman raped him during his #IAMSORRY performance art installation in Los Angeles earlier this year.
