Official: Debris found on island not part of Flight 370
An object found on an Indian Ocean island is not part of a plane door but a generic ladder that has nothing to do with missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, a Malaysian official said Sunday. The debris was found on the island of Reunion, where a piece of a Boeing 777 wing flap was found on a beach in the town of Saint Andre on Wednesday. "I read all over media it (the new debris) was part of a door," Malaysian Director General of Civil Aviation Azharuddin Abdul Rahman told AFP and other media outlets. "But I checked with the Civil Aviation Authority, and people on the ground in Reunion, and it was just a domestic ladder." Flight 370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, after taking off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bound for Beijing with 239 people aboard.

Zimbabwe wildlife authorities: Jericho the lion is alive
Jericho, a lion that was an ally of Cecil, the Zimbabwean lion whose killing by an American dentist sparked a global outcry, was spotted alive Sunday, local wildlife authorities said. Brent Stapelkamp, who is following Jericho's movements with the help of a satellite collar on the lion, said the big cat was alive. A picture of Jericho said to have been taken Sunday was posted on the website of WildCRU, the organization Stapelkamp is working with. The Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority also released a photograph of Jericho that it said was taken Sunday morning, the Associated Press reports. It follows a report by the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force that Jericho had been killed by a hunter Saturday.

Bobby Brown's sister vows family feud is just beginning
Bobby Brown's sister vowed the family feud was "far from over" between their family and the late Whitney Houston's kin during the memorial service for her niece, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Leolah Brown walked out of the service Saturday in Alpharetta, Ga. She told reporters she left during the eulogy given by Pat Houston, the sister-in-law and former manager for Bobbi Kristina's superstar mother, Whitney Houston. "I told her that Whitney is going to haunt her from the grave," she said. Other funeral attendees told TMZ that Brown was escorted out by security when she interrupted Houston at the beginning of her speech. The ceremony came nearly six months after the only child of Houston and fellow singer Bobby Brown was found facedown and unconscious in her bathtub. She never regained consciousness.
Ronda Rousey defeats Bethe Correia at UFC 190
On Saturday, Ronda Rousey destroyed Bethe Correia at Rio de Janeiro's HSBC Arena — just like she vowed she would — and successfully defended her title of UFC women's bantamweight champion. After her incredible 34-second knockout of Correia in UFC 190's main event, Rousey rubbed salt in the wound when she turned around and sent a message to Correia, who was unconscious on the mat. Rousey's statement was inaudible in real time due to the massive uproar from the crowd. Following the fight, though, she revealed to MMAjunkie exactly what was said. "I said the exact same thing she was saying to me at weigh-ins; she was screaming in my face at weigh-ins, she was saying, 'Don't cry.' So, I turned around after I knocked her out and said, 'Don't cry,'" Rousey said at UFC 190's post-fight press conference.

Manhunt underway for killer of Memphis officer
A person of interest was taken into custody Sunday during an intense manhunt following the fatal shooting of a Memphis police officer during a traffic stop. Dispatchers received a call at about 9:18 p.m. Saturday about an officer being shot multiple times, Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong said at a press conference before the apparent break in the case. The officer, identified as Sean Bolton, 33, died at a local hospital. "There is a theme that black lives matter," a sullen Armstrong, who is black, said at a news conference. "At the end of the day we have to ask ourselves, do all lives matter? All lives matter ... and this is just a reminder of how dangerous this job is."

Saudi official: Bin Ladens killed in England plane crash
Relatives of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden were killed in a private jet crash in southern England, according to the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom. Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf Bin Abdel-Aziz offered his condolences for the bin Laden family members who were among four people killed in the crash. In a statement, Hampshire Police told the BBC: "We do believe three of the deceased to be the mother, sister and brother-in-law of the owner of the aircraft, all of whom are from the bin Laden family, but formal post-mortem examinations are ongoing."

Raging wildfires prompt state of emergency in Calif.
Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency for all of California in the wake of wildfires that killed one firefighter and drove hundreds of people from their homes. California's record drought, now in its fourth year, has "turned much of the state into a tinderbox," he said. The emergency declaration, which included the activation of the California National Guard, will speed up help for thousands of firefighters, Brown said Friday. About 9,000 firefighters were battling 24 large wildfires in California on Saturday, Ken Pimlott, the chief of the California Department of Forestry and Fire said in an interview.

Texas attorney general indicted on felony charges, sources say
A grand jury has indicted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on multiple felony charges, according to several sources who are familiar with the complaints. The charges will be unsealed in McKinney on Monday about noon, and a Tarrant County judge has already been appointed to preside over the case, sources told WFAA. After the indictments are unsealed, Paxton can surrender to be photographed, fingerprinted and booked into jail. It's unclear exactly what Paxton will be indicted for, although a grand jury has heard evidence that Paxton, 52, violated securities laws.
