Thrill seekers got more than a wild ride on the opening day of New York City's Coney Island amusement park Sunday.
Riders were preparing to take the first ride of 2015 on the Cyclone wooden roller coaster at Luna Park when the ride stopped in its tracks, the New York Daily News reported.
Passengers were stranded briefly mid-drop. Park employees helped the passengers walk down the wooden planks.
Luna Park posted on Facebook that this was the first incident with the roller coaster.

Safety is the number one priority for our guests
No one was injured, and it's unclear when the ride will reopen. An Instagram user posted a video of the riders walking down the roller coaster with the caption, "That's another reason I'm not a big fan of roller coasters!!"
