NASHVILLE — A city councilwoman in Tennessee was arrested on public intoxication charges Tuesday night directly following a council meeting at the Lebanon town hall.
Lebanon police said officers were dispatched to the Lebanon City Hall and found Councilwoman Kathy Warmath in the parking lot attempting to enter her vehicle.
Warmath was arrested in the parking lot at around 7 p.m. CT, according to Lebanon police.
"Warmath displayed signs of impairment and was placed into custody for her safety and that of the public," police said in a news release. "Warmath was charged with public intoxication and processed at the Wilson County Jail."
Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead said it was “apparent she wasn't all there."
"Hopefully, she'll find someone to get some help," Craighead said. “You could tell she was having trouble with her thoughts."
