Ted Cruz had a perfectly fine ad, a parody of a therapy session in which people confessed their regrets about having once backed*Marco Rubio.
Just one problem, as BuzzFeed first reported:*One of the actresses*has been a softcore porn star.
The Cruz campaign campaign yanked the ad after learning about the background of actress Amy Lindsay, figuring that wouldn't play well with conservative and evangelical voters ahead of the South Carolina primary on Feb. 20.
"The actress responded to an open casting call," the Cruz campaign said in a statement. "She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial."
Lindsay, meanwhile, tweeted that she is "extremely disappointed" with the campaign's decision.
