Former congressman John Dingell poked fun at Ted Cruz after Iowa caucus victory was called for the Texas senator.
"Congratulations to Ted Cruz on winning the critically important primary state that also gave us President Santorum and President Huckabee," the Michigan Democrat*tweeted shortly after Cruz won.

Dingell, of course, was referring to the 2012 and 2008 Iowa caucus victors, both of whom went on to not get the GOP nomination for their respective years. Former president George W. Bush won the Republican Iowa caucus*in the years he won the presidency,*2000 and 2004 (in the latter, Bush*was unopposed).
The former representative, known for his sassy commentary on Twitter, also noted earlier in the evening, "The best thing about the Iowa Caucus is that it only happens once every four years."
