FORT MYERS, Fla.*—*The 2200 block of Jackson Street is filled with cars and folks and the sounds of a mother wailing after a night that left her son shot dead in a Fort Myers club along with another teen and dozens injured.
Jean Robert Archilles said he heard the news about his son, Sean, from the boy's mother, who called him between midnight and 1 on Monday when she told him he'd been rushed to a hospital.
Then he got another called from police: "Sorry to hear that your son passed away."
Sean Archilles, 14, was fatally shot while at Club Blu in Fort Myers. Up to 16 people were shot after a party billed as a "Glow Party and Birthday Bash." An 18-year-old also was killed.
The boy's mother declined to comment at her home, but many visited to pay their respects. One*group of teens came by with red flowers.

Archilles said his son went to Royal Palm Exceptional School and he can't imagine why anyone would kill his son.
"I don't know like what a 14-year-old can do to someone," Archilles said.
He said he doesn't know what started the shooting.

"Some of his friends got shot, too," Archilles said.
Royal Palm School principal Robert Morretti released a statement about Sean Archilles' death.
“The staff and students at Royal Palm School were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sean Archilles. Sean was the kind of young man who could brighten any room with his outgoing personality and contagious smile. He was a friend to all and will be deeply missed by his Royal Palm family.”

Fort Myers club shooting: What we know
Archilles said his son was there for a party.
Archilles said his son loved basketball — something he shared with the other teen killed in the shooting, Lehigh basketball star Stef'an Strawder, 18.
The shooting comes a little more than a month after the mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub, where 49 people were killed. The June 12 shooting is considered the worst mass shooting in recent*U.S. history.
