Fire and rescue personnel in Orlando, Fla., evacuated three buildings as they fought a large fire at a 652-room hotel near the heart of the city's tourism district.
Around 6 p.m. ET, Orange County Fire Rescue reported a fire on International Drive. On its Twitter page, the department said firefighters were battling a fire at Avanti Resort. Shortly after 8:30 p.m., the department said it believed lightning caused the fire.
WESH-TV reported that there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The Avanti is located about a mile away from the Orange County Convention Center, the Orlando Sentinel reported. It's about eight miles north of Walt Disney World.

The hotel is part of the area's "I-Drive" district, a public-private initiative between Orange County, Fla., the City of Orlando and local businesses. The district was created in 1993, its website said. In 2013, it boasted 116 hotels and resorts, 20 attractions and six theme parks, including Sea World and Universal Studios.
