Republicans may be embracing Donald Trump as their nominee this week,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>but according to a Pew Research analysis<span style="color: Red;">*</span>many GOP voters didn't originally support him.
Sixty-one percent of Republican voters have changed their minds at least once over the course of December 2015 to April 2016, according to Pew.
A quarter of those surveyed changed their minds twice.
Nearly half of those surveyed (44%) did not support Trump at all over the course of the primaries.
Today, 88% of Republican say they support Trump, and he seems to have converted many of his original critics.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Nearly eight in ten Republicans (79%) who didn’t support Trump<span style="color: Red;">*</span>now say they do.
But not everyone is positive about his choice;<span style="color: Red;">*</span>only 53% of those voters said they were “certain” they’d back him over former secretary of State Hillary Clinton come November.
The nonpartisan think tank tracked three surveys of Republicans between December 2015 and April 2016.
