Skywatchers in the far northern U.S. could get another chance to see the aurora borealis Wednesday night, though the show may not be as spectacular as the one Tuesday.
The aurora borealis, also known as the northern lights, are caused by geomagnetic storms from the sun, according to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.
With the geomagnetic storm waning, the chance for aurora sightings Wednesday night is low, but not out of the question, especially the farther north you go, according to Bob Rutledge, the lead forecaster at the prediction center.
YOUR TAKE: Share your photos of the night sky
"Another evening of aurora watching is possible in some of the same areas where it was visible the last two nights," the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang said.
Though the aurora may be fading, stargazers can still*watch out for the Taurid meteor shower, which can produce spectacular fireballs across the night sky.
