LONDON — A man appeared in court here Tuesday, accused of planning a terrorist attack on U.S. servicemembers in the United Kingdom.
Junead Khan, 24, and his uncle Shazib Khan, 22, from Luton, a town north of London, were charged by British authorities<span style="color: Red;">*</span>with intending to commit acts of terrorism.
Deborah Walsh, deputy head of counter terrorism at the Crown Prosecution Service, said the two are alleged to have been planning to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS and ISIL.
Junead Khan is also accused of planning a terrorist attack on U.S. military personnel in the U.K., Walsh<span style="color: Red;">*</span>said.
The two appeared at Westminster Magistrate's Court in central London and were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey, a higher London court, on Aug.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>10.
