A sheriff's deputy who escaped from a patrol car after being arrested for allegedly brandishing a gun at a 12-year-old girl Tuesday was caught Thursday afternoon, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Edward Gordon Tucker, 44, was arrested in Oildale without injury, the sheriff's*office confirmed.
A $5,000 reward had*been offered for*information leading to the*arrest of the 18-year veteran law enforcement officer.
Tucker, who had been on leave for a year, was initially*arrested Saturday after*allegedly approaching*a group of juveniles*and at one point flashing a firearm, KGET-TV reported.
After Tucker*was released on bail, authorities got a call from a friend of the suspect asking authorities to check on his welfare. He was located at*San Lauren Park*late Tuesday and arrested again after officers allegedly*found guns and methamphetamine in his car, the Associated Press reported.

Tucker*was been accused of*being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of*a firearm, possessing a controlled substance, driving under the influence, and felony willful cruelty to a child, authorities said, the Los Angeles Times reported. He was also alleged to have possessed*possible*bomb-making materials in his car, according to the AP.
Tucker was handcuffed,*placed in the backseat of a patrol car and taken to the Central Receiving Facility in downtown Bakersfield. After the arresting officer stepped away briefly to prepare for Tucker's formal booking, the suspect*managed to escape from the vehicle*and fled*the*underground parking garage.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said surveillance video shows the 18-year veteran officer's escape, according to KGET.
"It appears the rear window had been lowered somewhat, and he was able to reach out through the window and reach the door handle on the outside and open the door," Pruitt said.
"We don't know what his mindset is, we don't know what his motivation is at this point," Pruitt told *KGET*Wednesday.
