A manhunt is under way Sunday after a<span style="color: Red;">*</span>police officer was fatally shot during a traffic stop in<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Tennessee.
Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong told reporters that police received a call at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday about an officer being shot<span style="color: Red;">*</span>in Memphis.
The<span style="color: Red;">*</span>officer, who was conducting a traffic stop when he was shot multiple times,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>died at a hospital,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Armstrong said.
Memphis Police Department<span style="color: Red;">*</span>named him<span style="color: Red;">*</span>as<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Sean Bolton, 33.
Police spokeswoman<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Karen Rudolph told CNN<span style="color: Red;">*</span>that a member of the public<span style="color: Red;">*</span>used the officer's radio to report the shooting.
Officers found Bolton at the scene. He<span style="color: Red;">*</span>was<span style="color: Red;">*</span>was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and<span style="color: Red;">*</span>was later pronounced dead, the police department said.
Armstrong said<span style="color: Red;">*</span>police are using all available resources to find the shooter.
Bolton is the third Memphis officer to be fatally shot in slightly more than four years. Officer Tim Warren was killed while responding to a shooting at a downtown Memphis hotel in July 2011. In December 2012, Officer Martoiya Lang was killed while serving a warrant.
Armstrong said officers are grieving, adding that "this is just a reminder of how dangerous" the job is.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>"Sadly to say, we've been here before," he said.
