Another first lady first: Editing a magazine.
First lady Michelle Obama will be the guest editor for MORE magazine's July/August issue, focusing on the initiatives she has led during her time in the White House.
Those include Let's Move! (healthy eating and exercise for children), Reach Higher (college education for young people), Joining Forces (service members and their families) and Let Girls Learn (education for girls throughout the world).
"I am excited and honored to be guest editor of MORE this month and tell you a little bit about the issues I'm working on, as well as the extraordinary Americans I've had the privilege of meeting as First Lady," Mrs. Obama said in a statement.
MORE describes itself as "the magazine for women of style and substance."
"The First Lady is the ultimate MORE woman," said Lesley Jane Seymour, the magazine's editor-in-chief. "She is the perfect combination of passion, intelligence, beauty and glamor, and her gift for moving people to action is the reason I invited her to be our first-ever guest editor."
