Nickelodeon's 'The Splat' to house '90s classics

90s kids, rejoice! Ditch your<span style="color: Red;">*</span>homework, call in sick and prepare for hours of nostalgic, glorious binge-watching bliss.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Nickelodeon has officially unveiled a new programming block comprising<span style="color: Red;">*</span>some of its classic and most beloved shows, according to a<span style="color: Red;">*</span>September 24<span style="color: Red;">*</span>announcement.
The block, called The Splat, will feature<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Nickelodeon throwbacks from the 1990s and early 2000s (also known as our glory years) starting on October 5.
The Splat’s lineup will have<span style="color: Red;">*</span>both cartoon and live-action shows that, as of now, includes<span style="color: Red;">*</span>All That, The Angry Beavers, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, CatDog, Clarissa Explains It All, Hey Arnold!, Hey Dude, Kenan & Kel, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocko’s Modern Life, Rugrats, Salute Your Shorts<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and The Wild Thornberrys. Nickelodeon<span style="color: Red;">*</span>first began teasing The Splat in early September with the release of various<span style="color: Red;">*</span>#TheSplatIsComing<span style="color: Red;">*</span>videos,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>a new website and an array of<span style="color: Red;">*</span>social media accounts.
“We are looking at our library to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way,” Russell Hicks, the president of content and development at Nickelodeon, told<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Variety<span style="color: Red;">*</span>in early September.
We’re pretty sure Tommy Pickles — who, by our calculations, would now be in his mid-20s — will<span style="color: Red;">*</span>definitely want to watch The Splat<span style="color: Red;">*</span>over Reptar.
