90s kids, rejoice! Ditch your*homework, call in sick and prepare for hours of nostalgic, glorious binge-watching bliss.*Nickelodeon has officially unveiled a new programming block comprising*some of its classic and most beloved shows, according to a*September 24*announcement.
The block, called The Splat, will feature*Nickelodeon throwbacks from the 1990s and early 2000s (also known as our glory years) starting on October 5.
The Splat’s lineup will have*both cartoon and live-action shows that, as of now, includes*All That, The Angry Beavers, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, CatDog, Clarissa Explains It All, Hey Arnold!, Hey Dude, Kenan & Kel, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocko’s Modern Life, Rugrats, Salute Your Shorts*and The Wild Thornberrys. Nickelodeon*first began teasing The Splat in early September with the release of various*#TheSplatIsComing*videos,*a new website and an array of*social media accounts.
“We are looking at our library to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way,” Russell Hicks, the president of content and development at Nickelodeon, told*Variety*in early September.
We’re pretty sure Tommy Pickles — who, by our calculations, would now be in his mid-20s — will*definitely want to watch The Splat*over Reptar.
In the spirit of 90s Nickelodeon, we got college students’ opinions on The Splat. Spoiler: They are not disappointed about it.
