The White House issued a not-so-subtle response on social media to Rudy Giuliani's claim that the president doesn't really love America.
A White House tweet Thursday about the designation of three new national monuments carried the hashtag "#ObamaLovesAmerica."
Giuliani, the former Republican mayor of New York, had said Wednesday: "I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America -- He doesn't love you. And he doesn't love me. He wasn't brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country."

While many Democrats attacked Giuliani's comments, the White House had little to say publicly.
White House spokesman Eric Schultz, noting that Giuliani himself has been doing "damage control" since the comments surfaced, said that "I will say I agree with him on one thing he said ... which is that it was a horrible thing to say."
