WASHINGTON<span style="color: Red;">*</span>— President Obama will travel to Roseburg, Ore. on Friday to meet with the families of victims of the mass shooting at a community college there last week, White House officials said.
The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the schedule has not been finalized, said<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Obama would meet with the<span style="color: Red;">*</span>families privately.
Police say a 26-year-old student opened fire inside a classroom at<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Umpqua Community College last Thursday, killing eight classmates and an instructor<span style="color: Red;">*</span>before committing<span style="color: Red;">*</span>suicide during a gunfight with police.

The White House had previously planned a West Coast trip for the weekend to raise money for Democratic candidates in Washington state and California.
This will be Obama's second trip to Roseburg,<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and his first as president. In 2008, he made an unscheduled campaign stop in the town of 21,000 people in southern Oregon.
