President Obama's economic plan and battles with congressional Republicans are spotlighted Wednesday as he visits Cleveland.
In a speech at the City Club of Cleveland, Obama will discuss his vision of "middle class economics" while criticizing the new budget proposed by congressional Republicans.
The GOP budget represents "a failure to invest in education, infrastructure, research and national defense," Obama said Tuesday. "All the things that we need to grow, need to create jobs, stay at the forefront of innovation and to keep our country safe."
Obama will also on focus on manufacturing by announcing a new program of nearly $500 million. The money will be used to help develop a new public-private manufacturing institute devoted to textiles.
During his visit to Cleveland, Obama will also tour a facility known as MAGNET (Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network).
The president leaves for Cleveland in the late morning and returns to the White House in the early evening.
