A tense manhunt in western Pennsylvania<span style="color: Red;">*</span>ended Sunday when a man accused of<span style="color: Red;">*</span>fatally shooting a St. Clair Township police officer was taken into custody.
Officer Lloyd Reed was fatally shot after responding to a domestic disturbance call late Saturday, state Trooper Steve Limani said. Limani said Reed arrived at the scene in New Florence and was confronted by Ray Allen Shetler Jr., 31. Shetler fled after a shootout and was<span style="color: Red;">*</span>nabbed more than five hours later.
After the shooting<span style="color: Red;">*</span>police had issued a warning for the community to lock all doors and windows in their cars and homes and to report any suspicious activity in the town about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh.
KDKA-TV reported that<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Shetler was spotted walking along a local street and was arrested without incident. Shetler had suffered a bullet wound to the shoulder in the confrontation with Reed and was hospitalized, the TV station said.
Reed had been a police officer for more than two decades, Limani said.
