A schoolteacher in a Paris suburb who<span style="color: Red;">*</span>claimed he was stabbed Monday by a man who invoked the Islamic State made up the story, French prosecutors<span style="color: Red;">*</span>said.
The teacher, who has not been named, said a masked assailant attacked him<span style="color: Red;">*</span>in a preschool in<span style="color: Red;">*</span>Aubervilliers with a box-cutter and scissors.
The incident set off a manhunt after<span style="color: Red;">*</span>French media, citing police, said the teacher, 45, was injured but was expected to survive after he<span style="color: Red;">*</span>was stabbed in the throat and side and that the assailant escaped.
Police said the attacker<span style="color: Red;">*</span>mentioned the militant group, also known as ISIL. However, police subsequently said that was based on the teacher's testimony.
