A suspect is in custody after a string of shootings in Kalamazoo, Mich., Saturday that left at least seven*people dead, including a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.
A total of eight people were shot in three locations as the gunman drove around shooting victims, Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas told CNN.
A 45-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after a massive manhunt in response to the shootings that began about 6 p.m. ET Saturday, the Associated Press reports.
Five victims were shot and killed outside a Cracker Barrel restaurant, one of them the 14-year-old girl. A father and son were killed while parked at a car dealership and a woman, who is in serious condition, was shot four times in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Police believe the victims were selected at random.
"What it looks like is we have someone just driving around, finding people and shooting them dead in their tracks," Matyas said, according to CNN. "This is your worst nightmare, when you have somebody just driving around randomly killing people."
The suspect surrendered without incident but had weapons in his vehicle, Michigan State Police Lt. Dale Hinz told WZZM-TV.
"The threat to the public is over," Matyas said.
