Police in riot gear move to quell anti-Trump protesters in N.M.

Police donned riot gear and fired off smoke grenades in Albuquerque, N.M., Tuesday night after about 100 people protesting the<span style="color: Red;">*</span>White House bid of Republican Donald Trump broke through police barricades at the site where the candidate was speaking, the Albuquerque Journal reported.

Police stopped the protesters at the door of the Albuquerque Convention Center<span style="color: Red;">*</span>and got the barricades back up outside the auditorium<span style="color: Red;">*</span>where Trump shared his ideas on how to <span style="color: Red;">*</span>"Make America Great Again," the Journal reported.
The developments were part of a night of clashes between anti-Trump demonstrators and authorities as Trump addressed a crowd of about 4,000.
Inside, authorities removed some protesters who they said repeatedly tried to interrupt trump.
Outside, matters became loud and physical as protesters tossed burning T-shirts at law enforcement.
"This is an unlawful assembly," the Journal<span style="color: Red;">*</span>reported Albuquerque police spokesman Simon Drobik told protesters over a loud speaker.
The tensions were part of a night of clashes between protesters and Trump supporters.
Protesters chanted “walk of shame” at Trump supporters as they walked along a sidewalk that leads to the Albuquerque Convention Center.
They threw water bottles and water at some of them.<span style="color: Red;">*</span>One man, Dereck Scott of Alburquerque, who gets along via wheelchair, said he was hit with a plastic bottle.
Protesters also charged at police horse patrols.
