Republican presidential candidates Marco Rubio battled Chris Christie while Trump got booed after telling Jeb Bush to be quiet. VPC

NASHUA, N.H. — Republican presidential candidates fanned out across New Hampshire on Sunday following a debate that focused on Marco Rubio's lack of experience, Chris Christie's aggressive*attacks on Rubio, and a relative lack of criticism of front-runner Donald Trump.
Christie told Fox News Sunday that Rubio's awkward responses during Saturday night's debate —*including word-for-word recitations of talking points*— underscored his argument that the first-term senator from Florida is simply not ready to take on the Democrats and become president.
"You*have to be prepared, you have to be experienced, you have to be ready," the New Jersey governor said, arguing that he has these qualities and Rubio doesn't.

Top takeaways from the New Hampshire Republican debate

Opponents in both parties circulated video*clips of Rubio repeating his claims about Obama during the debate,*enabling Christie and others*to argue that he*relies on canned, rehearsed*sound-bites and speeches.
Rubio told ABC's This Week that*he would pay critics to keep running that clip, saying he is running to reverse Obama actions and he will keep making his argument against the president. "It's what I believe and it's what I'm going to continue to say," Rubio said.
While his*performance garnered poor reviews, Rubio said that "we raised more money last night in the first hour that debate than any other debate."
Christie, Jeb Bush, and Ted Cruz sought to hammer Rubio in an effort to slow momentum that began with a strong third-place finish in Iowa and*has carried him into second place in many polls in New Hampshire.
In the process, most of*the candidates generally avoided attacks on Trump, who continues to hold big leads in those same New Hampshire polls.
Trump*told CNN's State of the Union he is "really happy" with the way the debate came out, and said he would do well in Tuesday's primary because voters have been turned off by the current political establishment.
"These politicians don't know what to do," Trump told CNN. "And that's why the people are on my side."
Bush proved an exception — he criticized Trump over the businessman's*support for land taking under eminent domain — and noted the relative silence of other candidates.
"Interestingly, I was the only person to go after the front-runner, Donald Trump," the former Florida governor told Fox News.*"Everybody else had a chance and they didn't do it."
Bush, Christie, and another governor — John Kasich of Ohio — are all seeking to overtake Rubio for second place, hoping to emerge as the main alternative to anti-establishment candidates Trump and Cruz.
All the candidates*said the New Hampshire electorate is fluid,*the race remains a volatile one -- and one one wanted to make a specific prediction about how they'll finish.
"Oh, I'm not going to say exactly," Kasich told CNN.**"We'll know on the 10th -- look, we're going to do very well."
