ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The restaurant chain Noodles & Company issued an apology Tuesday after a Virginia police officer says an employee refused to serve her.
According to a representative with the International Union of Police Associations, the officer went to the Noodles & Company in Alexandria on Monday evening.
As the Alexandria officer was waiting to place her order, a cook went to the cashier and said, “I’m not cooking for that one.”
The officer, who was not identified, left the restaurant and reported the incident to her supervisor.

“She was really shaken up by this,” IUPA Local 5 Vice President Peter Feltham said.
On Tuesday, Feltham met with a Noodles & Company manager and said he received an apology.
According to The Washington Post, Noodles & Company said in a statement that the restaurant is “working with the appropriate authorities and local police association representatives to get to the bottom of, and resolve this matter as quickly as possible.”
The company is reaching out to the officer but has not spoken to her yet, according to the statement.
The manager, who refused to speak with WUSA, promised to post signs saying “We Support Blue Lives” on the restaurant doors, according to Feltham.
He also said the manager is investigating the incident and will take disciplinary action against any employees who were involved.
