The Secret Service isn't messing around with people who get too close to the White House gates these days.
The service reported arrests of two people over the past two days who sought to breach security perimeters.
New Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy has vowed to improve security operations in wake of embarrassing incidents, including the September fence jumper who managed to make his way into the White House itself.
From the Associated Press:
"Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary says one man was apprehended Sunday night outside the south side of the White House after he climbed over a bike rack that serves as an outer security perimeter. Leary reports the man was charged with unlawful entry.
"The second incident occurred about 6:45 a.m. EST Monday at a north side entrance to the White House. Leary says that as construction workers departed, an individual tried to get in though the open gate. Leary says that man was detained and arrested after a physical confrontation."
