Brittany Maynard's family has released a new, personal video of the Death with Dignity advocate, weeks after her controversial death by assisted suicide in Oregon.
Nov. 19 would have been Maynard's 30th birthday. But she died on Nov. 1, surrounded by her family.

Brittany Maynard, right-to-die advocate, ends her life
Supporters released the new video on her birthday, asking that people honor the day by advocating for Death with Dignity laws in every state.
Maynard and her family moved from California to Portland, Ore., so she could use Oregon's law to end her life after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
"I decided to share my story because I felt like this issue with death with dignity is misunderstood by many people in our community and culture," she says in the video. "It's not a fear-based choice, it's a logic-based choice."
The video also includes photographs of Maynard before her illness and features the voices of other terminally ill patients.
Four other U.S. states also allow patients to seek aid in dying: Washington, Montana, Vermont and New Mexico.
Compassion & Choice said its website has had more than 5 million unique visitors during the past month, while Maynard's two previous videos have been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube.
"I sense immense momentum right now," said Barbara Coombs Lee, president of Compassion & Choices. "Brittany Maynard is a new voice for a new generation of activists. ... She devoted her precious energy to help ensure other dying Americans would have a choice."
