WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man charged with kidnapping and killing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham has been indicted in the 2009 disappearance and death of another college student.
The Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office said Tuesday that Jesse Matthew Jr. has been charged with first-degree murder and abduction with intent to defile in connection to the death of Morgan Harrington. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Harrington was a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student who disappeared after attending a Metallica concert at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
Matthew is charged with capital murder in the September 2014 disappearance and death of Graham, 18.
