Donald Trump got back at frequent critic Lindsey Graham on Tuesday in a very Trump-ish way: He gave out the South Carolina senator’s cellphone number.
Speaking at a town hall in Graham’s home state of South Carolina, the businessman-turned-presidential-candidate urged the crowd to call the state’s senior senator.
“Give it a shot,” Trump said in Bluffton, S.C.*“Your local politician, you know? He won’t fix anything but at least he’ll talk to you.”
In the meantime, Graham plans to get a new number. “Probably getting a new phone. iPhone or Android?” he tweeted.
Graham, who is also seeking the Republican presidential nomination, has criticized Trump over his claims that too many Mexican migrants are criminals and for his criticism of Senate colleague John McCain.
In an interview Tuesday with CBS, Graham said Trump should “just stop being a jackass.”
Responding to that comment hours later,*Trump showed the South Carolina crowd a card with Graham’s phone number on it, and read out the digits.*Trump said he got the number when Graham called him a few years ago*seeking a reference at Fox News, where the businessman made frequent appearances.
Graham campaign manager Christian*Ferry said in a statement that Trump “continues to show hourly that he is ill-prepared to be*commander-in-chief.”
The only beneficiaries, Ferry said: President Obama and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
“Because of Trump’s bombastic and ridiculous*campaign, we aren’t talking about Obama’s horrible deal with Iran or*Hillary Clinton’s plans to continue Obama’s failed national security*agenda,” said the Graham campaign manager.
The Graham campaign also cited Trump’s action in a new fundraising solicitation.
