Authorities say there's an "active shooter" at a mall in suburban Baltimore.
The shopping complex is located in Columbia, Md.
Howard County Fire and EMS tweeted the following:
The Baltimore Sun reports:
"The Howard County Police have confirmed a shooting at the mall. But they could not confirm whether anyone had been [injured]."The newspaper says there is "heavy police presence" at the mall and that dispatchers had requested buses to evacuate customers.
"Customers inside the mall are reporting that the mall is in lockdown and customers have been directed toward the AMC Theater. Other customers reported hearing gunfire before fleeing the mall."
