We are seeing more and more of this ourselves - bloated, overmodded and over imaged vBulletin sites. Well, it's a trend everywhere, getting to be epidemic.

Consider this infographic:

Pages are getting bigger and fatter, and therefore slower too. It's silly. Stop the madness. SPEED is what cuts it on the web, not your gizmos, gadgets, doodads and your dozens of bloated images.

Your right. This is a huge problem for sure!

I know Google has been working on some things such as a new image format that is already saving tons of bandwidth worldwide but it seems to be very slowly accepted.

I am doing my best with my site but as a site loaded with images and videos since 2005 it is not easy. I am sure Michelle would not be happy.
